Benefits of trigger shot
So I have had the HCG shot in my possession for two months since I haven't had the opportunity to use it. I have been surging on different days so when I get the call I am surging I go the next day for IUI and don't get the shot. Is there a true benefit to using it? I used it once the month I had my chemical. Was it just coincidence?
My follies are 29 on right, 15 on right and (2) 10 on my left. As of yesterday my left had a 14 but today it was two 10's?? Different sono techs. Maybe the 15 dropped??
So anyway if I am not surging today then I go for trigger tomorrow and IUI Friday unless I want to chance it again tomorrow and wait to trigger Friday for Sat (which is much easier for me w/o work).
What would you do????

Benefits of trigger shot
the trigger shot lets the Dr predict O more precisely. so it gives a better timing window for the IUI. I did get Ovidrel every IUI I did. and I too O between 13 to 19 day pass AF, so def no set day for any of my cycles

Ok so it's not like I will be more likely to get pregnant it is strictly for O purposes correct?

Re: Benefits of trigger shot
yes, here is what I found that better explains it: "Once the follicles are mature, at least 18 mm in size, 10,000 IU of hCG is given to trigger ovulation. This will start the process of ovulation, or the release of the egg(s), predictively and very accurately, in about 38 hours. In human females, the process to actually release the egg takes about 4 hours. Therefore, 38 plus 4 equals 42, which is about the time the egg(s) will physically be released and picked up by the fallopian tube."

Re: Benefits of trigger shot
I know this wasn't your primary question, but I just wanted to add that sometimes different angles of the same folicle will give you two different measurements. The one that was 14 yesterday and 10 today may have been taken from different angles causing the measurement to be different. There is a big difference between 10 and 14, but tomorrow at a different angle it could be 16. You never know. Good Luck!!!

Re: Benefits of trigger shot
The nurse told me that the sono techs measure different and the girl from yesterday typically measures bigger than the guy today. I was hoping to have on both sides but I think I just produce mature follies on one side at a time. They called me back and still no surge. Bringing me in tomorrow for more blood and sono. They will likely trigger me tomorrow. I would love to trigger Friday but I am sure that wont happen. I just want to make sure my lead follie doesn't get too big to where it starts to break down.
Thanks for the input!!
