No. I consider dh and I the people raising our boys. Those who watch them during the day are caring for them.

Thats exactly how i thought but I have been told by someone that there raising my DD cause thru watch her 1-day a week

Raising? No
Helping out in the process..well yes, b.c i can't deny that that person is spending time with my DC while i am away..
that said though my child is learning our values, religion, morals, traditions, what will or will not be tolerated from DH and I. we are the main influence. I am up all night when they are sick, take them to their sports or dance, on vacations, outings etc..
the days of daycare are just about behind me for my oldest who is in K. she is with her teacher now but her teacher is not "raising" her..

Agree. My parents watch DS and will watch DC#2 also while I work 3 days per week. I can't deny that they are helping raise my kids. They spend 3 full days with him (soon to be them). He learns a lot from them and adores them and they adore him. I also agree that the parents are typically/usually the main influence. There's no denying that!

What about those who go to daycare? Are the teachers raising your kids? Who ever made that statement is clueless on how to raise a kid.

My inlaws watch DS 4 days a week. There is no denying the fact that they play a huge role in my boys life. That does not change the fact that he is being raised by me and DH.

ugh! my mom watches DS M-F while I'm at work and she constantly tells me that she is raising DS. It drives me crazy, but no matter what she says, I know that DH and I are raising him. She just entertains him while I'm at work! lol

Nobody else raises my child. They may have a unique role in my kids' lives, they may teach my children, but they are not raising my children. I still set the standards and my kids still come to me at the end of the day and I know in their hearts, my guidance is the one that controls above all others. I know that if they say so and so said xyz, I can say mommy doesn't agree with that, mommy thinks abc, and my opinion will be the one that matters to them.

My inlaws used to watch DS full time. I wouldn't say they were raising him, I say they were hugely helping me raise him  they were with him 10 hours a day
