Hotel In Newport, RI
Can you recommend a hotel? I would like it to be walking distance to a nice restaurant and bar. I dont know anything about NP so I am not sure if this is even possible!
Thanks

Re: Hotel In Newport, RI
We stayed at the Marriott. It was nice and definitely in walking distance of many restaurants and bars. We didn't use our car the whole time we were there.

Hotel In Newport, RI
There are a ton of B&B's and only a few hotels, within walking distance of the main town area. I can't recall the names of any of the B&B's I've stayed in, but they were all nice.

Re: Hotel In Newport, RI
I just came back from Newport, RI this weekend. We stayed at Hilltop Inn. It was GREAT and within walking distance.

Re: Hotel In Newport, RI
I have stayed at 3 places in Newport- 1- Pearls- I have sated her with my girlfriends for the past 4 years. It's a boutique style B&B. it's really three houses that share a gorgeous patio/courtyard. The units we stay in are like mini apartments with a pullout couch in the living room, a queen size in the bedroom, and private bath. Breakfast and parking is included and the owner usually sets us up with appetizers and wine in the courtyard before dinner. The breakfast has some things set up buffet style (fruit, bagels, lox, eggs, pastries) and they always have a hot special every day cooked to order- like french toast or blueberry pancakes. We love it there, but it's pricey. I think it's around $400 a night in the summer. One block off of Thames. 2- the Burbank Rose- I stayed there last summer for my SIL bachelorette party. Simiar type of setup- two day beds in the living area, queen in the bedroom. The unit we had also had a full kitchen. There was plenty of room, but it's more of a traditional B&B with older, but nice enough, furnishings. The breakfast is more simple- scones, cereal, coffee and fruit. But it's still a good way to start your day. This place was more reasonable, I think it was like $200 or so a night. Central location off of Thames, directly across from the Red Parrot. 3- Wyndham Long Wharf- more of a timeshare resort. We stayed in December for a long weekend in a 2 bedroom unit. It was really nice and modern. The indoor/outdoor pool was nice too. It was an exchange from our timeshare so I'm not sure how much it is nightly. It was definitely walkable to everything, but it was a little further. Rather then being kind of in the center like the B&Bs, it's right at te start of the strip. Right next door to the Marriot.
