NYPD Express scripts/GHI coverage for prescriptions..
I just ordered from Freedom and they are checking ins. What should I expect to pay for HCG shots? Are other fertility meds covered with ES? I read some of you mentioned to get the max amount allowed for injectables but how can I find out the max allowed or do I tell my RE this?

Re: NYPD Express scripts/GHI coverage for prescriptions..
Could one of you explain how this works with freedom pharmacy please? Do itell nurses to send prescription then i call with my medco/express scripts info. When i spoke to girl today she said novadrel n another generic brand is covered but ovidrel is not.
This cycle i just paid out pf pocket but next month i plan on going thru freedom just not sure of procedure.
N u say to order max amount n does that include trigger shot?

NYPD Express scripts/GHI coverage for prescriptions..
MY RE office ordered through Freedom. Freedom called and said I had to meet a deductible or something like that on injectibles so I paid $100ish for Trigger- I guess HCG- I don't know the brand name. I think bc I met that deductible the next trigger shot will be covered but I'm not really sure. The Progesterone suppositories- endometrin were cheap like $15. They sent me both things on the date I wanted through FEDEX. I asked my REs office about max amount on trigger and its only 1 per cycle. I think the max amount is supposed to be ordered by your REs office when you are doing an injectible cycle. So if you are doing an injectible cycle ask your REs office to order the max allowed when they call Freedom Pharmacy. Oh and FYI my shot did not come pre-mixed- I'm assuming it was a generic and cheaper thats y the insuracne probably picked that one. I know this is all so complicated and we are learning as we go. Good luck.

Exactly the same. I had to pay $115 to cover the deductible and the co pay for progesterone was $15. I am hoping it will be cheaper next month now that I met the deductible. When I get into the bigger IVF drugs, I will def try and order the max. What do you mean by the shot not being premixed??? Do I have to mix something?? lol

Ovidrel is mixed already while novarel is not. You have to mix the ingredients yourself. Sice i paid out of pocket this cycle i got ovidrel for 126... Novarel the one that u need to mix is more expensive... I really dont kno who makes these rules.. It just sux! I wish we could just order from our local pharmacy!!!!

I have a diff rx plan but GHI... I had to order through freedom pharmacy and they went through GHI and I paid a copay, i think it was 15 or 20 I don't remember... but it was generic HCG only... still works the same though.
ETA I always went in with the HCG and the nurses did it for me

Sounds right. The med was in one vial and the solution was in the other vile. I brought it in to my RE for instructions about how to mix. I think it was 1 ml of solution into the medication. If you get the one one that is not pre- mixed DEFINITELY bring it into your RE for instructions. The nurse explained what to do. If your DH will be giving it to you have him listen to the instructions as well. Luckily my RE was able to pre-mix it and administer it bc the timing worked out. Yes, if you get into injectibles definitely order the max. Good luck!

I'm sure he will do fine. My DH was completely fine with doing it if he needed to. I'm the one who was scared... Good luck.

If my brave cop DH can do it (the same guy who can't kill a spider!), then yours can do it!
