I would love to talk to some moms who have been thru the surgery with their DS. Anyone have experience?

Yup. Me. My son had surgery at 7 months at the LIJ outpatient center. Dr. Palmer was his dr. We absolutely love him. My son had a great recovery. He had a catheter in for 2 days and then they removed it in office. He is 16 months old now and you would never even know he had the surgery. Feel free to ask me anything. I was so nervous about my baby having surgery, but its anazing how resilient they are.

My son is having the surgery on 4/1 with Palmer at LIJ. I am so worried about the catheter and bladder spasms. Do you know why they were able to remove it so soon?

Also, was he sore? I am assuming I won't be able to carry him on my hip right? Did he need bigger pants while he had 2 diapers on?

And could he/did he eat after the surgery or later that day? The nurse said I would probably only want to give him pedialyte that day, but ds is an eater.
