A PSA about feeling baby move.
I'm 21.5 weeks and when I went to my checkup over a month ago I was told I should start to feel the baby move 'very soon'. Never happened. I assumed by St. Patrick's Day I'd feel it but kept waiting and waiting and nothing.
I mean... not even the bubbles feeling.
I knew it was okay because I've read first time moms sometimes dont feel it til later but other first time moms kept saying they felt it way sooner. Some at like 16 weeks.
So when I had my check in this week I told DH I was going to bring it up just because I knew I'd feel better hearing them say it was okay.
They addressed it before I even got a chance to broach the subject.
They were going over my anatomy scan and told me that my placenta is sitting front and center -- basically acting as pillow between baby and my stomach. Cushioning the blows basically.
"So it might be awhile."
Just for anyone else who might not feel it til later on -- a reminder that everyone is different and each baby is different and things aren't necessarily going to happen at a specific time

Yea my doctor told me real movement starts at 28 weeks and that's when they tell you to start your kick count. I have been feeling movements but nothing too crazy just yet!

A PSA about feeling baby move.
I felt like one kick around 21 weeks but then didn't feel it for while. Around 23.5 weeks is when I REALLY started to feel the kicks and movements. At 25.5 weeks DH finally felt one kick. I kept asking my sister why it's all so late and she said the same thing your dr said, the placenta is front and center and is cushioning the kicks. She said "it might be awhile until Franky really feels movement and kicks on the outside". DS is also breech which doesn't help the cause.
You'll feel them...and when you do it's awesome and cool and then you tell him/her to stop because it gets uncomfortable. HAHAQ

Re: A PSA about feeling baby move.
Yeahhh I have an anterior placenta too
I do feel flutters, obviously it's too soon to feel much else (although I do have a friend who felt the baby jump around now - but does not have an anterior placenta).
See.. and this is why I want my own sono to use at home. Don't feel the baby? Flip on the machine and see it move...... I'd use it 24/7
