All glass or half glass front doors
We are going to be getting a new front door within the next couple of weeks. I want a full glass with the glass panes on the side as well. I LOVE light, so I feel it will bring more light in.

We have a full glass door. The top half slides down for a screen. It does let in a lot of sun. But mainly we got the full glass so the dogs could look outside
ETS:This is the screen door. We have a wood door with an oval glass inset as our front door.

we have full glass - I love it. I was worried because I wanted something that let light in but also gave us privacy. We picked a glass with a higher privacy rating and it's fantastic.

We have half glass, lets in lots of light, but no privacy since it's not frosted, etc. I bought a magnetic curtain rod and hung up a sheer panel and hemmed it to the correct length. Like it much better now.

Re: All glass or half glass front doors
Our house came with a set of doors that had full glass with sheer curtains behind them. It let in a lot of light, which was nice but had some annoying drawbacks because of privacy issues. Every time someone rang our doorbell, my kids would run and slide the sheers over to wave hello to the stranger at the door. Also, at night, when the lights were on, the person at the door could see straight into the house if they pressed their face up to the glass. From the road, they couldn't see anything in the house.
We replaced our doors recently with 3/4 decorative glass and a high privacy rating (I think it was an 8?). I would have done full glass, except the design I chose was only offered as 1/2 or 3/4. I'm happy with the 3/4. It totally changes the look of the house, both inside and outside.

With the high privacy rating, des it let in a lt of light? I ask because if we have our front door open, we have to close it at dinner time because the light blinds us icing at the table.

It still lets in a lot of light, but not as much as it did before (with the clear glass and sheers). Probably because of the pattern we chose on the glass. Your best bet is to see the doors in person.

Full Glass with sidelights. All 3 pieces have privacy glass & ironwork. Looks very Tuscan, we love it.

Re: All glass or half glass front doors
if i had to re-do my door i would do half... our current door has two long full glass panels and the design did not give much privacy (you could see into my house from the street with our lights on) so i ended up having to put that frosted adhesive stuff over it.

We have a full glass screen door for the animals to look out and then a wood front door with oval etching. It was just installed and I'm in LOVE. The etching keeps from people peering in unless they have their faces pressed to the glass.
