Pregnancy nightmares
I know this is just a result of everything that's happened the last few years with my pregnancies coming to a tragic end, but last night for the 2nd time recently, I had a nightmare that we lost the baby.
I'm 17wk1d now. My first baby did not make it past 17wk3d. I KNOW this is just a matter of getting past our milestones and continuing to get good news, but these horrible dreams are just so stressful and upsetting.
What's bizarre is the dreams will feel so real too, talking about the exact point in pregnancy I'm at right NOW and specific dates of appointments .. and when different things are expected to occur ... it just feels so so so real ...
I know there's not much to say here and this is more a vent than anything (unless there's someone else out there who can commiserate)
I just can't wait to get beyond the next few weeks where I'll hopefully be able to just move on blissfully consciously, but especially subconsciously!

Pregnancy nightmares
oh no:( I can completely understand why you would feel the way you do with everything you have been through.. I think pregnancy nightmares although natural to have.. are scary and frightening at the same time.. I always worry and I try not too :( I would try and stay as positive as possible and say this time will be different.. :) all we can do is hope for the best!! I know this may sound silly but My hubbys aunt gave me in the beginning the saint charms.. one was St Gerard , St Mary, the St of eyes- (St Lucy).. and St Theresa.. I wear them everyday and although Im not super religious I feel better knowing they are watching over me and makes me feel safe with the baby.. maybe something like that would help a lil.. Im no psychic but I really believe this is your time and it will work out for you in the end! Good luck

Re: Pregnancy nightmares
I am sorry you are going through this I don't have experience with the nightmares but I did have a demise at 28 weeks. During the following pregnancy making it past 28 weeks was milestone for me. I worried and cried and drove DH crazy but once that week came I felt relieved.

Re: Pregnancy nightmares
I think the milestone is on your mind (naturally)and it's just surfacing in your dreams, but I know how horrible it is to wake up from those kinds of nightmares I've been having nightmares about Hurricane Sandy lately (just one over the weekend), and I wake up in a panic, I keep feeling this dread of "what if" it happens again this summer when we'll have a newborn. Gratefully I haven't had any dreams about losing the baby (unlike last time where I had TWO dreams leading up to our loss about delivering early, almost like a premonition ), in fact I've hardly had any baby dreams this time around (although I did dream of a baby girl over the weekend, it was the first one!). I think it's only natural that these thoughts are surfacing in your dreams, I hope that once you pass the milestone in 2 days you can focus on moving forward with confidence, but I know firsthand how impossible that is!

Thanks! I actually have a ring with my first baby's birth stone and I've been wearing it every day of my pregnancy feeling like it brings me the luck we so desperately need. It actually does make me feel better to wear it.

That's the thing!! I worry that this is some kind of premonition Last week I went in for intralipids and asked for a sono because I had just had a crazy dream we lost the baby and it was freaking me out!! Thankfully everything was fine ...
Thanks everyone, I know getting past the next few weeks will do wonders for me!

Pregnancy nightmares
First time being pregnant for me and O MY GOSH...Scary dreams! I've had multiple dreams about loosing the baby and they are so real it's very scary. I am constantly fighting people and punching them lol Then i have very sweet dreams about DH holding and playing with baby. Told my OBGYN and he said...yes that is pregnancy for you and these dreams won't stop. He said he has a 19 and 20 year old and still has crazy dreams GL!

Re: Pregnancy nightmares
I'll commiserate with you, those dreams are very scary. Your mind while awake is always thinking about these milestones, so its only natural that your dreams will play on them. I've had them as well, scare the poop out of me. And unfortunately like others have said, the dreams don't go away, because now I have nightmares about my children. I've had to make sure I filter what I see on television before I go to bed because that has an affect on my dreams as well.
I hope it gets better for you soon. And watch shows filled with happy things before you go to bed, hopefully that will help.

Re: Pregnancy nightmares
I don't know if this will work but I find that if I watch a graphic show or think about something intently right before bed I will dream about it!! I have had "The Following" dreams every week after I watch... haha! And last night I dreamt that I was best friends with "Hofstra" and she handed me her son, who by the way had a name, so we will see if I'm psychic, anyway I had just read her post about having her today...so that why I dreamt about it..... Maybe you can try this to get your mind focused on other things beside the milestone????

I watch Dr.Phil on my dvr before bed but thanks I do know what you mean.
Thanks ladies, that's a good point about probably always having dreams and worrying about my kid somehow!
