Family Friendly Vacation

That isn't Disney? Is there such a thing? DD is 5, so Universal Studios and Hershey Park are too big for her, and she never got into Sesame Street.

Caribbean beach resorts are not for us for a variety of reasons.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

ETA: It does not have to be driving distance.

Family Friendly Vacation

If you want to drive...We rent a shore house every summer. Ocean City, NJ, is a great family-friendly town. You have the boardwalk, mini-golf, the Cape May Zoo, an aquarium in A/C, they even do a pirate ship boat ride. And it is a dry town so the element is very G rated.
There are tons of things to do!

Re: Family Friendly Vacation

There are lots of great family friendly tris within driving distance like Woodloch Pines, Rocking Horse Ranch, Mystic, Newport, Jersey shore, Myrtle Beach, Lake George. Yo can also look into Club Med Sandpiper or even a cruise.

Re: Family Friendly Vacation

Hershey is not too big for a 5 yr old. I took my dd the last two years and she just turned 5. We spent a day and a half at the park and half a day at chocolate world. There are a good amount of kid rides and the water area.

What about California? You could go to several cites, drive down the coast. San Diego has lots of family friendly things. Anaheim has disneyland, you could see the redwoods, san fran. It is a great place bc you can pick lots of family friendly locations and there are a ton of choices.

Washington DC and Baltimore

Williamsburg

Cape Cod

We have been taking my dd every year since she was 18 months old, lol. I think 5 is a perfect age!

Re: Family Friendly Vacation

Busch Gardens?

Why not Hershey? We plan to go to Hershey with a 2yo and 4yo in June. We will probably stay at Hotel Hershey.

We haver never been but I want to take the boys to Legoland (San Diego or Orlando). You could do a Florida vacation and not do Disney. Sea World was also fun. 3yo DS got to feed the dolphins and had a blast last year.

Well that was why I was thinking California..yes you could do disneyland for a day but you don't havr to but have 1000s of things to do. San Diego.is nice. We stayed a long time ago at the the hotel the grand flordian was modeled after. There is a nice zoo, sea world, I think a lego place, there is so much to do that isn't disney.
