When we were looking first I started reading the Baby Bargins book. Gave me insight on what to look for and where to look. Gave me an idea of what type of crib is safest and so on. Then I went on Buy Buy Baby, Behr's, Bellini, etc and looked around online. I did a lot of research and looked online whenever I had down time. It's fun though. Also take into account, if you want a specific color depending on gender and what color the room is going to be.

We are not doing traditional nursery sets like from BRU. We are into repurposed furniture, though our crib will be brand new. I can't wait to have a different nursery style.

Definitely take a look at Baby Bargains for furniture ratings. Then I would walk around BRU, BBB and a furniture to see what you like.

We looked at BRU, Behrs, Bambi baby, crib world (turns out they went out of business), and Bellini.
DH and I then compared our list of favorites and we only had two in common. We re looked at the two and picked one.

SOO HARD!!! It took me awhile to decide on mine.. I went to Buy Buy Baby.. They had beautiful stuff and our family was able to use the 20 percent off furniture for each piece which really saved some money.. I hear Behrs has great stuff but more on the pricey side so it depends on what you are willing to spend.. :)
ETA.. are you finding out the sex? Thats a good start if you are wthen you can get furniture that is more geared toward one gender.. It was harder being gender neutral I thought.
