Has anyone heard of a second person being in the OR for a csection?
Just curious... Would they allow let's say your Mom and DH to both be in the OR during the procedure?

I delivered at Good Sam -- only 1 person allowed, no exceptions. My mom wanted to be there but they let us know that would not be allowed unless she replaced my DH.
ETA: The best thing is to just call up the hospital that you might deliver at and ask.

I'm not sure. When I had a C Section it's like organized chaos in there. There are so many medical professionals in the room, I'm not sure if they would have more than your DH. I know at StonyBrook, they didn't bring in DH until I was already being operated on. But, it certainly wouldn't hurt to ask!

Yes certain hospitals will let others view the depending on the circumstances. They're starting allow birth photographers in slowly on Long Island as long as things run smoothly otherwise you will be kicked out. Same thing for maybe a soon to be grandma/pa depending on the hospital/circumstances.

Oh interesting! I'm delivering at Winthrop, and will be asking my OB next week at my next appointment. I'm leaning towards them not allowing it, since there are double the amount of people in there for twins anyway, but I think my Mom would love to be there. She's going through a lot right now and these will likely be her last grandchildren, so I wanted to see if it was possible.

I delivered at North Shore Plainview and I know it's a one person deal only. My DH and Mom were "fighting" over who got to be in there, DH won, lol, but I know for a fact that only one person is in there. Like a PP said, there are already a lot of people in there

Just had my section (march 7) at LIJ. They allowed DH in there with me. I believe they only allow one person.
