Family place with sitter service?
DH and I are trying to find a place that we could drive to (up to say 3-4 hours) with the kids (age DS 3 yr. and DD will be almost a year at the time) for a summer overnight stay. For example, if DH and I wanted to go for dinner by ourselves or go for a massage yet there would be stuff for kids in our children's age range they could do? Anyone know of a place?

No one knows of a place, like not even in PA? Thing is DH and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary soon and we were hoping to do something overnight by ourselves but do not have a big family and do not want to pressure anyone into watching our kids.

sorry...all I know is the Beaches resort (and I only found out about it b/c of LIF).
I know many friends who bring a babysitter along (get her a separate room) on their vacations.

Some of the ski resorts have stuff like that. Sugarbush in Vermont does. Not sure if you'd want to do that over the summer though...

Mohegan Sun in Connecticut has that. It's called Kids Quest. They have a separate room for little ones and and a huge play area with slides, video games, and tons of stuff for bigger kids. We used it when DD was 9 months old (a little young for that, but they take babies from 2 months and up! She has no grandparents capable of babysitting and it was literally the first time we were apart from her in her whole life). They were very professional there and I'd bring DD back. I'd recommend it. Plus, Mohegan Sun has restaurants, a great spa, and of course gambling.

Woodloch Pines has babysitting. And they have an amazing spa.

I'd call hotels and ask if they can arrange babysitting services.
As for areas to drive to... Mystic, Newport, Atlantic city all fit. I'm sure you could even do Dutch wonderland or a kiddie focused place.
Another possibility is manhattan. Stay someplace nice & I can almost guarantee they will find you a sitter.

Thank you all ... I will look into these ... it will be way too expensive to bring a sitter along and we do not know anyone.
