Is it an ear infection?

My DD has been very cranky and not eating much all day. She just took a 3 hour nap and woke up with a fever of 100.7. She is also tugging on her left ear. I know it's not a high fever but I'm worried it will raise throughout the day. Her dr is closed so what should I do? DD is 1 and we live in Nassau. Thanks

How old? Can you give Tylenol for the fever?

My DS always has an ear infection when he gets a fever, and it's usually a low grade one like 100 or so. Can you try to make an appointment first thing tomorrow morning? In the meantime, just keep an eye on the fever... maybe a bath or some meds to bring it down?

yes it sounds like it. I would take her just to be sure but with my son... he only got low grade fevers like that (never high) with ear infections.

Yup sounds like an ear infection. I would go to Dr. ASAP to start antibiotics. The sooner DC starts the sooner the pain will be relieved.

Thanks for your replies. We gave dd a bath and that seemed to help a lot. I was planning on giving her Advil before bed but her fever went away. I'm going to keep checking her tonight and call the dr in the morning.
