Amino or CVS
When is the earliest you can get the amino or CVS? Are they usually covered by insurance?

Amino or CVS
I think the earliest they will do a CVS is 11-12 weeks and the amnio is usually done at week 16 (they made me wait until then to get mine) but I think you might be able to get it done as early as 15 weeks.
I had done both and both were covered by insurance.

No, you definitely don't need both. I did the CVS bc of the downs ratio we got from the NT scan. The CVS ruled out downs but then they found something else that we had to have the Amnio to see if it was in the amniotic fluid or just the placenta. Knowing what I know now I would just have passed on the NT and CVS and just did the Amnio.
