for the gentlease part..did it make your baby poop more? ds is still not popping and i wonder if it is him or the formula,although he never pooped before anyway...and also did the gas smell worse lol..he is better on this and burpa/passes gas more but wow do they stink

as for the gi doc..i am not sure what to do..ds had poop /gas issues from day he was born..he is 13 weeks

at our 3 month well visit ped said it is not a allergy it sounds like reflux lets try one more formula and if no change we will put him on meds

so he has been on gentlease for 4 days and def see a improvement,he is still gassy but less and it comes up better and he burps more etc

but he is still constipated..has moments where he screams from gas and goes stiff and his belly gets so hard

ped said some kids just poop every 3-4 days..which is what ds does but to me that just seems odd..esp bc he starians so much to go with no result

if u took your baby to the gi doc what made u go? do i have valid enough reasons

I didn't take DS to a GI but we give him gentlease. It took about 6 days for it to "kick in" and him to fully stop fussing. I don't think it changed the poops, but it's quite possible that i just forgot (or repressed it lol)

It made DS 1 poop more when he was on it - constantly.

It made DS 2 poop less in the beginning - we had to give him prune juice since he was getting constipated and uncomfortable. Now that he's been on it over 11 months, he has no issues.

We just took DD to a GI yesterday. Initially, she was on SImilac Advance. When she was drinking that, her bowel movements were what you'd expect from an infant. Unfortunately, she was spitting up quite a bit, so her ped had us switch to Gentlease. Her spit up continued. Ped had us start nutramigen. While we initially thought she was improving, she continued to spit up. Also, once we stopped the Similac Advance, her bowel movements were once every 3 days, at best. Our ped sent us to the GI because DD wasn't having regular bowel movements on nutramigen and was still spitting up. GI started her on Zantac yesterday and has us giving DD a glycerin suppository each day for a few days to try to help regulate her.

I had taken dd to gi. She was having tummy, poop, gas issues. Exteemely bad smelling gas and poops. She wasnt constipated shr had explisive diarrhea bad everyday. She also had reflux, supposedly severe reflux though no reflux meds helped her.. She was always uncomfortable and sone days very fussy. Peds never wanted to change formula because alimentum and nutramigen are thinner and he was afraid it would make her spiit up. I was told it was NOT a milk allergy.
Well u did my own research and followed my gut. I changed her formula to alimentum and within a few days i saw a huge difference and within sbout 5-7 days i hsd an entirely new baby. No more diarrhea, bad smelling gas, tummy issues, no more fussy baby no more straining and crying from gas and most of all the mildest case of reflux!!!

See there are babies who just have a milk intolerance not an allergy. No blood in poop no testing can be done for this. Also there are no allergy tedts for infants blood in poop test for milk allergy is not 100% and does not mean anything if its negative. Look it up. Milk intolerance have all thesame symptoms of allergy and also exacerbate or mimic reflux sypmtoms.

I bet if you change formula to hypoallegenic one such as nutrmigen or alimentum you will have a brand new baby.
