Flying alone with a 10 month old, help!

I am probably going down to FL soon to visit DH while he is working down there. I have never flown with an infant and I will have no one there to help me. What do I need to know about traveling with an infant? I will need her car seat. Should I use the snap n go and have them check that and her car seat at the gate? Im totally lost and am concerned about dealing with our luggage and a baby. Advice is appreciated

Why do you need her carseat? - Can't she sit on your lap?

You can rent a carseat down there - One less thing to lug around and travel with ......no?

I just answered this the other day on another thread- we just traveled let blue to Florida with two car seats and they made it completely painless. I actually checked the car seats at the curb and gate checked our double stroller. When you walk off the plane your gate checked items will be sitting there waiting for you. Imo you need the stroller to get through the airport so your plan to gate check a snap and go and seat are great. The best best way imo is to buy two seats and put the baby in the car seat on the plane bc they are used to travelling like that but of course then you have to buy two tix.

Thanks ladies. I am having her sit on my lap but need her car seat for traveling down there. I was thinking about renting one which I know BRU does but I am not certain how that works. Do you rent at the BRU location? How would I get DD from the airport to BRU? Anything else I should know? Can I bring food, bottles on for her. I am BF'ing but I won't BF on the plane so I want to bring milk for her.

ETA: I just checked out the BRU rental info and I think I might end up doing that and just bringing her city mini and checking it at the gate.

Most car rental companies have seats available for rent as well but, it ends up being $$.

We usually check the seat with our luggage and gate check the stroller if we need to travel with car seats (sometimes DH drives to our destination and we fly to meet him).

I just flew with 8 month old take the snap n go with car seat and gate check it. Its waiting for you when you get off the plane. It was soo easy. 1 less thing to worry about buying or renting and veing unsure of what yourgetting imo.
