Back from doc
Well, I took Marron to the doctor today because of her excessive crankiness lately and her inability to nap and her possible constipation.
They said that all babies have some degree of reflux and that some babies reflux acid. They said that she may be one of the ones refluxing acid which could be making her cranky and making her wake up from being in pain. He prescribed Axid for her so we'll see if it helps.
Regarding the napping, aside from the possible acid reflux he didn't have an answer for why she won't nap well unless she is developing "colic" which I don't know if that makes sense since she is already 4.5 months old.
He said she is not constipated. He did a rectal exam and said that all is well in that department. She did have a small pasty BM just before we left for the appointment. I think I'm going to give her a bit more pear juice tonight though.
She was still passing an awful amount of gas today but is much better than yesterday. She actually slept for almost 2 hours in her swing this afternoon, and is now sleeping again -- it's been almost an hour now.
Finally, they heard a small heart murmur that they want me to have checked out by a cardiologist. I know murmurs are common in newborns but the fact that they haven't heard it before now or mentioned it to me if they did hear it worries me a bit.

Re: Back from doc
I'm glad you took her to the dr. and I'm happy they gave you something for her acid reflux. I hope you see an improvement soon. I will definitely hope and pray the murmur ends up to be nothing

Re: Back from doc
I'm glad she's better today! Drs can't always hear murmurs (I have one, and it often goes undetected), so don't worry
