Picking a newborn photographer

DH and I have decided we would like to do a newborn shoot. How did you guys go about picking a photographer? Did you go by what yo use on their websites? Did you meet in person? Did you call and make n appointment to go there? Were you referred by a friend? I found a place I love, but I have emailed them a few times and they haven't gotten back to me.

I went based on recommendations and quality of pictures, as well as price we are willing to spend.

If you tried emailing and haven't heard back, how did you email? was it an inquirt off the website? maybe there's a facebook page with a separate email address you could try.

Re: Picking a newborn photographer

I just booked mine today. I went with one a friend used. Its expensive but from what I understand, they all are. I had emailed them originally but they wrote me back asking to call so you will probably get further with that. I booked during 1st phone call. I hope I don't regret it but if I don't do it, I never will. I will put it off and put it off if I have to call around.

Look at different ones, email them for info and go from there.

I have heard of some not emailing back. I'd give it a few days and email again in case it went to spam, but forget them if they dont get back.

Also search newborn photos on here and you will find lots of threads referring different people.

Most don't meet in person. You just speak on the phone or email. I'm sure if you really wanted to meet them first they would but Ive never actually heard of meeting them first.

Re: Picking a newborn photographer

I haven't really chosen yet, I still have so much time.

But, recently, I've been looking on here at other poster's pictures... and I like a few so we will just sit down and choose the photog with the work that we like the most. Most of them on here come highly recommended in terms of being reliable and such. So, it's just a matter of really loving their work and of course, budget.

Recently, I think it was AngShaun who posted her pics and I thought they were just breathtaking -- her photog was Leslie Simmons. I was so impressed!
