Hotel recs in Baltimore
There are definitely places to avoid, lol. I went there this Summer with the hubby. (I got tickets to take him to an Orioles game for his birthday.) While searching for an open breakfast spot (we got in pretty early) we wound up a few blocks inland behind the inner harbor and it is extremely sketched out. There are tons of strip clubs and abandoned buildings. Stay out of there.

Hotel recs in Baltimore
As for hotel we stayed at the Hilton Baltimore and it was amazing. It overlooks the ballpark (like you can watch the game from your room) and they have a private deck on top of their gym where you can sit outside and it is like attending the game without paying and sitting in a private area. It is great. I booked the room through hotwire. (Highly recommend doing that or Priceline to get the best deal.) The Hilton is about a five-ten minute walk from the Inner Harbor.

The hotels in the Inner Harbor are close to the Aquarium. I've stayed at the Radisson (which was the farthest from the Aquarium that I would go) and the Brookfield Suites.

Re: Hotel recs in Baltimore
Def. alot of places to avoid. We stayed at the Baltimore Marriot Waterfront also. It was nice and convient. I def. do not have a desire to return but DS enjoyed the aquarium and the zoo. Becareful of parking and stopping in no stopping zones. The area's change extremely fast. Like one block makes a difference.
I was harassed by the police there when dh ran inside cvs, to get motrin for ds who ended up getting sick. I was unsuer where to park and pulled over. The officer was extremely rude and scared me. He followed me till I went to paid parking garage. for 3 minutes. When Dh came out he had no idea where we went it was it was awful, and DS was in the car. It was so bad, we filed a report. Dh was livid, being in law enforcement himself he couldn't believe the cop. So be careful.

Re: Hotel recs in Baltimore
I would definitely Priceline a hotel. I have had great experience particularly in Baltimore. I have chosen a 3 star in Inner Harbor and have usually gotten the Marriott or the Hilton for less than 100.
