Did I get too many seats?

At my shower I got all of the following items for the baby to sit/lie down in. We live in a house, so we do have room for all of this stuff, but I'm wondering if it's just overkill and we should return some of it?

Rock and Play (Definitely want to keep this one)
Baby Einstein jumper
Bouncy Seat
Bumbo Seat w/ play tray
Pack and Play
My Little Snuggabunny Swing

We also have an UppaBaby stroller which has a bassinet on it and the snap-n-go for our Chicco Keyfit infant seat.

Re: Did I get too many seats?

Certain items you will use at different points. Like the jumper you can't use until your baby is a bit older. The bumbo not until your baby is ready to sit up. The only thing I would add is a swing. With both my daughters I got the fisher price my little lamb/bunny swing. The best invention ever especially since it goes side to side as well as back and forth. The rock and play is similar to the bouncer. I personally like the rock and play better than a bouncer because its higher off the floor and you can use it longer.

We have all those things and didn't think it was too many. We could have done without the Bumbo and the Pack and Play (we literally never used the PnP) but I know other people use them frequently.

I have all of these things too. Some were second-hand. I feel like this baby is going to have a very fun first year. My house is basically one big baby gym.

Like a pp said, different items are used at different ages. Also, babies canshow their own preference, so iit's hard to predict. Dd1 loved loved lived the swing. Dd2 hated the swing and used it once and that was it. A bouncer was ok for dd1 for maybe 10 min for play, but not for any extended period. I'd keep them all for now.

Ditto. You don't know what your baby will like. Some babies like the bouncy seat and hate the swing, and visa a versa. Better to be prepared. We had all these things and an exersaucer. Dd used all of them at some point, except the swing. She was never into the swing, but I know other babies who lived in the swing.

Re: Did I get too many seats?

I have that exact list of items... so far we have used some of them...

The swing always calms him
He sleeps in the RnP in our room upstairs
We use the uppa baby bassinet when he naps on the first floor

We haven't used the Bumbo, Baby Einstein Activity bouncer, bouncy seat or the PnP. We're going to use the PnP and activity bouncer when he gets older, and the Bumbo when he's old enough to hold up his head. We're not sure when to use the bouncy seat... I'm guessing when he's awake more frequently.

If anything I would return the snap and go and just get the car seat attachment for the uppa baby.

I'd keep them. Every baby is different so you never know what they will like or dislike.

Really? Do you have the Vista and have you been using it with the infant seat? I heard from some people that the snap and go was much lighter and they just preferred that to the Vista w/the infant seat in the beginning. I'm due in a couple weeks and right now I have the Vista set up with the bassinet in it.

The snap and go is lighter but I just feel like I have something that performs that function so I work my arms a little more Chat Icon maybe I'll kick myself for it later on so we'll see... I actually have the uppa baby set up in my house as well. I had ordered the bassinet stand but returned it. I like being able to roll him from room to room on the first floor while he's napping. That way I can keep an eye on him and still get stuff done. It doesn't hurt to have both but if you were looking to return something that is the only thing I could think of, I think you'll get use out of eveyrthing!! Chat Icon

Re: Did I get too many seats?

we have all of those seats as well. dd is now 7 months and im wrapping up the swing, the bumbo has been away since 5 months because she started to try and get out of it, bouncy is still around but ready to go any day now because she like to climb out of it too. the RNP is only still out because I have her sleeping in it because she has a cold, otherwise that would have been away for 2 months as well. you can bring out and set up the jumperoo anytime from 4 months on. my dd is 7 months and Im just setting hers up now, but shes been in an exersaucer since 5 1/2 months. hope this helps.
