EXACTLY what brownie said...read "Baby Bargains"
It helped me SO much. What I did was looked up the top rated ones in the book and then went on Amazon and read some reviews on there to see what people said.
We registered for the Graco Snuggleride 35 for the carseat
For the stroller I registered for the snap and go (it's cheaper and light weight). Then when he gets older I registered for the Maclaren Techno XLR Stroller.

We have the Graco Snugride. I absolutely hate snap-n-go strollers, so the stroller was a big decision. After playing with a million strollers, we got the UppaBaby Cruz.
