infant car seat questions
Any strong opinions between the chicco key fit, graco snugride, or peg perego?
Here's my situation:
Baby 3 due June 2013. Baby 1 had peg perego but it expires july 2013 Baby 2 had a second perego and it doesn't expire until sometime late 2014.
I liked the peg except for the fact that it was very very heavy for me so I tended not to carry it around. Both babies were out of infant seat and in convertible infant seat by 6mths old.
I need a car seat and 2 bases for baby 3. Do I 1) use the second peg perego and buy a new peg base; 2) buy a new graco snug ride that's lighter and an extra base; or 3) buy a new Chico key fit and an extra base.

I would use the car seat you have. If it expires late 2014 and you are due in June 2013, baby will outgrow it before it expires. I had the snugride 35 and it is heavy and bulky. I would not buy another for the short amount of time.

If you use the Peg, can't you still use the base from DC1?

I would use the one that you have since you will only be using it for a short amount of time and it isn't expired.

I asked the guy in bbb in saturday whether the expiration applied to the base and car seat or just the seat, and he didn't seem sure but said to be safe he would apply it to the base and seat.

I would use the one you have. I bought the smallest snugride they make and it was still heavy with DS in it. DS is a PEANUT! He is 14 months and would have just grown out of it at about 12 months but I had him out at 4 and in the convertible seat cause the carrier became more of a hassle at that point.

I just googled it and looks like that is the right answer. Seems crazy to me, but better safe than sorry. I would still use the Peg and just buy another base.
