gliders.......
My DH is against getting a glider that has the bottom exposed becuase he is concerned the baby's fingers as they get older will get caught. I understand his concern, but would this type of glider be so popular if kids we hurting themselves all the time? What are your thoughts?

We have one handed down to us..we plan on using it till the baby doesn't need rocking anymore. Then we plan on storing it in the attic. We wouldn't need it again till baby #2 comes along, and by then baby #1 would be old enough not to put their hands there.

Mine is open like that but has a lock so that isn't an issue when I'm using it it unlock it and when I get up I lock it other wise it smashes the wall

Same here, look for one that locks.

I read online at reviews and the Baby Bargins books and they all say to look for the locked gliders for this exact reason. The ones that are closed on the bottom are just TOO expensive. Also, I notice Buy Buy Baby is REALLY expensive for gliders. We registered for one at Target (so much cheaper) and bought SIL's on Amazon...ALSO SO MUCH CHEAPER.
