full moon
Do you think there is any truth to the old wives tale that a full moon sends women into labor? I'm hoping so, there is a full moon on thurs.

I'm wondering the same thing. I keep telling my DH that I could go into labor on Thursday because there will be a full moon... it's also my birthday!

I went into labor during a full moon. I was 5 days away from my due date and the morning b/4 my doc told me nothing was really happening and we even spoke about induction. The maternity ward at LIJ was packed!!!

It's funny you bring this up. I was just at a b-day party this weekend and a woman told me to look up the full moon schedule for the next 3 weeks because she was sure there was truth to the tale. Both her kids were born on the full moon......1 was 2 weeks early and the other was 1 week late.
Other than Thurs......how do you find out if there will be more than one before the 24th? I know nothing about astronomy

I definitely believe there is something to this -
All three of my boss' children were born on Full Moons.. and I know a few other people who went into labor on full moon dates too (either they were early or late..)
Ya never know !

There's only one full moon per month..
so if you don't go into labor this Thurs for the full moon, the next full moon is next month -- which I just checked is on October 7th!

I'm hoping it's not true, even though it's my birthday I'm still not ready for him to come yet. Also, my favorite doctor is not on call that day so she wouldn't be doing the c-section.  Of course she's on call tonight into tomorrow and then again Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. So I can only go into labor on those days!

I think I'm going to have Luca right around then. He's measuring about 9 days ahead, which puts his due date at Oct. 11. So if the full moon is Oct. 7, then I have a feeling I will have him between the 7th and the 11th.

I'm due on 10/14 and also measuring about a week ahead.. now that I see the full moon is on the 7th, I'm soo hoping that the full moon kicks things into gear for me as well!!
