subway sandwiches
I know to stay away from deli meats. But do you ladies think that their tuna salad and grilled chicken teriyaki sandiwches are ok? I'm starving and my coworker is going there to pick up lunch.
TIA

Re: subway sandwiches
I ate both of those last pregnancy- if its a subway that has a lot of business and is constantly moving food than its fine

Re: subway sandwiches
My OB wants me to stay away from ALL tuna, so I'd probably skip it from subway (moreso b/c you don't know if it's chunk light, or white albacore, which has more mercury....but then again chunk light is cheaper so that's probably what they use!).

Re: subway sandwiches
I would not - their chicken isn't really chicken, neither are their deli meats
LINK
I would go to a reputable deli that uses real food, honestly.

Yea I heard tuna is bad too. I always opt for grilled chicken now. But yea I was never a fan of subway. I eat Quiznos now and then but I'm sure it's just as bad

Re: subway sandwiches
I had the buffulo chicken yesterday and I get the other grilled chicken a lot. Get it toasted. I dont know if I would eat the tuna on a normal day.

Re: subway sandwiches
I probably wouldn't do the chicken or tuna salad. I didn't eat tuna due to mercury and I read not to eat cold chicken salad due to risk for listeria. Having worked in the food industry all through high school and college, I wouldn't trust any fast food place/deli/restaurant (no matter how good) to serve me unheated cold cuts or tuna/chicken salad while pregnant. While it may be uncommon, it only takes one time to get listeria.
I ate lots of turkey sandwiches while I was pregnant but I always made them at home and cooked the meat to steaming. I wouldn't do tuna due to the mercury but if you want chicken salad, I'd make my own at home so you know it's fresh.
