Moms of 5 month olds please come In
Dd just turned 5 months. Ped says she is teething. She also started rolling over so we stopped swaddling. I feel like prior to the teething and rolling over, I was JUST starting to get a decent stretch of sleep. Dd was going to bed around 8 and sleeping straight til 4:30-5. Now that she is not swaddled and her teeth hurt, she is still falling asleep around 8 but now starts waking pretty much every hour on the hour whining/ crying and I have to go turn the soother on and give her the paci. This goes on all night until the alarm goes off for me to go to work. Is anyone else having a similar experience? Any btdt moms have any advice? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. I am one tired mama!

My Twins are 15 months & we still occasionally hit a rough patch with the waking atnight. It stinks I know. If you know for sure she is teething see if you can figure out if bottom or top teeth first. You can try putting orajel. If you don't want to use that try the Hylands teething tablets. For us they didnt work to well..but worth a shot.

My DD is 5 months as well, so far I think we have been lucky with the sleeping part, but I was wondering why you can't swaddle? I use the halo sleep sack that I can keep her arms free, but use the wings to make her feel tightly swaddled. Maybe I'm wrong, but I see no reason why u can't swaddle like that?? Could that help?

i'm afraid to swaddle her since she can roll over now in the crib-
maybe i can get the sleep sack and just make it tight with her arms out? never thought of doing that. she just has the regular sleep sacks now

I would try the halo sleep sack. I have the small fleece one, and that one comes with Velcro wings that you can make as tight or loose as you need around her body. Underneath that it zips up like a vest. It stays on snug, and I'm not worried when she rolls over. She still has her arms out, and she can move her feet. Be sure the one you get has the Velcro wings bc I went back to get another one, and it didn't have the wings. Then maybe you can slowly loosen it to transition to just the sleeping bag.
Eta: I read that as long as their hips are not constrained it shouldn't be dangerous. I'm new to this to, so my advice might not be the best :). But I think others on here use and love the halo blankets too
