I shopped mostly in baby gap and Ralph Lauren from bloomies, lord & Taylor or Macy's. I really bought her pjs and onesies from Carter's

i'm not fully buying yet -- but i always look at the clearance rack at kohls to see what kind of stuff they have. and old navy.

TJ Maxx and Marshalls has fantastic prices on clothes and gear.
I got great deals at Old Navy (esp if you use ON or Banana credit card).
JC Penny carries carters. Carters always has deals. Both of these places will return Forever with a receipt - no limit.
If you buy any clothes yourself - KEEP RECEIPTS!
I ended up getting some duplicates from my shower and was able to return what I purchased or exchange for size as needed.
People also tend to bring outfits when they visit after the baby is born. So you won't really know what you are going to end up with yet.

I bought all of my DS' clothes at Carters and Baby Gap. I really love Carters for the 1st year. The clothes is comfortable for baby and cute. I like dressing a baby, like, well, a baby. Baby Gap is hit or miss in the sense that I didn't always love what they had. I remember buying gifts for friends years ago and feeling that they had cuter stuff before. But the quality is great. Socks I've always gotten at BabyGap.

I always have good luck at Carters. sometimes osh gosh and macys. Gap has cute stuff too.

But before you shop wait for your lo to arrive....we got a ton of outfits in a variety of sizes we returned some for store credits til we figure out exactly what we need
