Re: Jersey Shore hotel
We stay at the american inn in North Wildwood. Its right no the beach and at the end of the boardwalk but its very clean.
We booked our vacation two weeks ago and they didn't have much available. She said people leave deposits for next year when they check out the year before.

I recommend the 3rd floor efficency. Its the most expensive but has the most room.

Re: Jersey Shore hotel
We went to Wildwood and it was great. Very family friendly. We stayed at the Starlux, which was a short walk to the main piers. It's a boutique style hotel, with a great pool, bikes and beach gear you can borrow, and free breakfast. Across from the beach. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite that had a kitchenette. Lots of kiddie rides, waterparks, it was really a fun time. No rowdy, drunk people like so many people say there is there. It was all families when we went (July).
North Wildwood is supposed to be nice, but I didn't want to be that far from the "action".
Also if you go that route, and you stat at Morey's Resort, they have some great stay and play packages which provide heavily discounted rates for the entertainment at the piers.

Re: Jersey Shore hotel
We went to Wildwood Crest every year for 5 or 6 years in a row. We always stayed at the Pan American hotel and loved it there.

I spent my entire childhood in Wildwood. However, as a mom, I feel Ocean City is cleaner with a nicer crowd. It is a "dry" town so you won't have the partying vibe. Contact me with any questions. I have been going for 32 years and consider myself an expert. ;)
