Cruise to Alaska

Anyone cruise to Alaska with young children? What cruise line did you take? Did your kids enjoy it?

Cruise to Alaska

I've cruised Alaska, but not with children.
I think it was great, there was a lot to see - eagles, salmon jumping, harbor seals, whales, mountain goats on the hillsides. It's freaky when the sun is shining at 11:00 at night.
The glaciers were awesome, watching them and hearing them calve was amazing. We did the nature tour in Juneau up to the Mendenhal Glacier, took the railway up the mountain in Skagway.
We were supposed to stop in Ketchikan, but that got scratched and we went to Victoria BC instead.
It gets cold up at the glaciers, and Juneau is very rainy, but we still had such a great time that DH and I want to cruise Alaska again.

Oh, and we cruised Royal Caribbean, round trip out of Vancouver BC.
Next time we would like to do a one way trip, I think we would see more of Alaska.

Re: Cruise to Alaska

My parents took my family when my brother and I were 18 and 16. We def brought the average age on the boat WAY down as it was mostly people 50+. And we did at points get dirty looks from some of the cruisers like what are they doing her and it wasn't like my brother and I were partying like animals. It seemed our presences bothered them

What cruise line ? Makes a huge difference.
We sailed Royal Caribbean, Princess was there as well, as was Holland America, which caters to an older crowd.

Re: Cruise to Alaska

I researched Alaska and thought Holland was best but that is without kids.

If I were going with kids, I would do Disney.

We were on princess true but my uncle went on carnival and said the same thing. Plus there were multiple ships at various excursions and we got those looks everywhere
