Eczema Solutions?
DS's eczema was under control but has recently flared up again. His skin is cracked and bleeding. He doesnt even want to take a bath because it stings.  I'm going to make an appointment with the ped derm after not going for almost 2 years.
What do you use for eczema? What medications?
We were prescribed aclovate 2 yrs ago and have used it on occasion. It no longer seems effective.

Eczema Solutions?
We have a steroid cream from the ped that starts with a T. We use that twice a day. We also do diluted bleach baths. It is horrible but he gets staph when they are open and bleeding if we don't. When it was really bad we were told to put the cream on him and wrap him in gauze and cling for a week changing it twice a day. Man it was a pain, but it went away. As for everyday lotion we use coconut oil or St. Ive's extra protection that is safe for sensitive skin.

Eczema Solutions?
The bleach bath is 1/4C bleach and fill the tub up 1/4 of the way. After that we give him a normal bath. We use Dr. Bronners baby mild organic bar soap.

My daughter has eczema in her face and body before. I used renew lotion and its like magic. Cetaphil restoraderm is not working on her.

I have had eczema for years. the good news is that it goes away in summer.

Ds is 4 months, i used to use california baby calendula cream for his ezcema, but then that stopped working. The doctor gave him a mild steriod for 1 week and now we keep his ezcema under control with cerave.

Ours isnt as severe but we are using Cerave. The ped mentioned a script creme but we havent used it or needed it yet. Maybe there is a different script they can give you.

For outbreaks that are severe like that on DD it depends on where the eczema is as to what helps. When it's on her arms and legs Desonide helps. When it's on her scalp, neck or trunk I have found that fluticasone propinonate helps the best. For general maintenance, I think Aquaphor works wonders, but sometimes no matter how much I stay on top of it, it just flares up and gets terrible.
Also, when DD is cracked and bleeding I let her take a shower with me to get clean. She seems to tolerate that better than sitting in the water.
