how much for a new water heater?
apparently i have to get a new 50 gallon lowboy water heater...can anyone give me who and how much is was for this? i havent moved in and already this house is costing me!

We had to replace both our boiler and hot water heater because of Sandy.
We got both together at his cost from our plumber friend which I want to say was around $3K (without labor cost).
I would probably say then to half that for just the water heater.
Neighbors who had to hire out to get theirs replaced paid much more, because of the cost of labor. We gave our friend an extra $1K for his time.
Not sure how helpful this is, but hope it gives you a ballpark figure at least.

DH installed ours himself and it cost us under 1k.

Ours is pretty large, we paid I believe $1000 with install.
