How did you make your first fruits and vegetables? Did you mix them with a little breast milk/formula? What did you us to puree it well?

The easiest is banana or avocado. Just mash with a fork and thin with bm, formula, or water.
Another easy one is to buy the steamfresh bags of green beans or peas. Cook according to package directions and then puree in the blender with some water to thin it.
You can also steam apples, pears, peaches, green beans, brocolli, etc using a steamer insert and regular pot. Then blend in a food processor or blender. I prefer the food processor but I did find the blender worked better for peas. You can use the leftover water to thin it (unless it's carrots, then use fresh water).
I also bake butternut squash (halve it, remove seeds, and place in a pan with an inch of water) and sweet potatoes (poke holes and wrap in foil) in the oven and then puree with some water.

I thin with water. I steam everything in the microwave in glass bowls with a little bit of water and then blend in my magic bullet or food processor. Microwaving is the fastest way to cook them and in turn, they retain more nutrients that way. If I end up adding too much water to the mix and it comes out soupy, I just add some oatmeal. Check out this book, it will tell you the cook times for almost anything.

The only thing I didn't like is it says to put plastic wrap over the bowl when cooking. I use a glass top since I don't want to have all the chemicals in DD's food that are released by microwaving plastic. The best tip I can give you is skip the freezer trays like the book says and buy these, they are the best and save on sooo much time!

yes I thinned it with bm gradually letting it be thicker but you could use water/formula.
DO NOT use the water from steamed carrots. it's not good for the baby.

I steamed carrots and sweet potato and i used a little water to thin it out.
201organic baby purees said if you want to mix breastmilk or forumla into your purees do not add it in if you're going to freeze the food, add it it in when it is defrosted.

I use the wholesomefoods webdite posted above. Its the best! I bake or dteam fruit and veggies based on recipe i get from the website. I personally do not use the microwave at all for anything i cook for her. I dont trust the microwave. I thin with purified or distilled water. Gerber even makes a water so i use that to thin. I use my hand mixer to blend. I bought the baby bullet but i dont really like it at all. Love the storage though.
