Ladies who have thrombophilia please come in

I have thrombophilia. Was fortunately diagnosed prior to my first pregnancy. I had a healthy baby born in 2009. However I did develop some o the complications associated with thrombophilia in my first pregnancy. (sub chorionic bleed, preeclampsia at 36 weeks).
I have to switch my dr's now ( I saw both high risk and a separate OB) Bc of insurance.

I need to know what combination of dr those of you with thrombophilia see? What high risk and OB?

And to be more specific I need dr's that deliver in north shore or LIJ since I work for the system.

Does anyone have names??

First pregnancy I did everything at winthrop.

I am not pregnant YET but I'm concerned Bc last time i had everything squared away before I got pregnant. And now I have to switch everything.

I will need a c section again, I am 4 years older, weigh more than when I got pregnant the first time Chat Icon
I was taken out of work last time as well at 16 weeks on modified bed rest.

So I am a nervous wreck already and I need to get things in order.

Thanks for listening and thanks for the advice!

Ladies who have thrombophilia please come in

Did you ever contact Dr Victor Rosenberg at North Shore Maternal Fetal Medicine? You can do a pre-conception consult with any of the docs in his office(they are all MFM) and then have them refer you to an OB which will probably be one of the docs at North Shore Women's Health across the hall. Go to northshorelij.com for further info

It's funny I did and I spoke to a Loius over there and she must of called me back 4 times this week and there seemed to be so much confusion with making an consultation appt. she said she wouldn't be able to until April and would call me back in March. (she was trying to make it with Rosenberg).

Who are the OBs they use?

Re: Ladies who have thrombophilia please come in

Rohan delivered me in 2007, but that was when she was affiliated with Winthrop! She is very knowledgable. Dr Vohra who works with Rosenberg delivered DS in 2004. I called Dr Rohan to use her for this pregnancy but she is on leave so in the end I decided to go to Rohan's old practice that's affiliated with Winthrop but they are high risk as well.

If I were you I would just ask Dr Rosenbergs office to see which other practice they would recommend. I am quite sure they work with other doctors such as Dr Trongone.

Yes he does. Also recommended Seidman and Aronovich.
Trongone can't get an appt until October!! unless pregnant.

Re: Ladies who have thrombophilia please come in

I see Dr. Kofinas for high risk in Garden City, he is amazing! He doesn't take insurance, your out of network benefits kick in & you pay your deductiable. For me that is $200. My ob is Miller but he doesn't deliver at LIJ. You can call Kofinas for a consult & speak to him about ob's that deliver at LIJ. I am 24wks & the staff have been so amazing there. My first dd was born in VA in 2010 at 31wks b/c I was undiagnosed.
