so now I feel bad....

There is a new girl that started working with me back in December and my invites for my shower went out mid January.. I didn't really know her so I didnt have my mom invite her to my shower.. now it seems it was wrong not to cause my boss asked my co worker if I invited her and she said I dont think so and made a face like really? but honestly isn't it weird to invite her when I hardly know her? just cause I work with her everyday for the past 2 months I should send her an invite to something where I didnt even invite other people I wanted to that I have known longer? Would you have invited her? Now I feel really bad but I thought its kinda asking a lot for someone who just started working with you to attend.. I dunno what the right thing is

If you have a limited amount of people to invite and there were other people that would come before her then don't feel bad. It isn't anyones business why you didn't invite her, but if you need to explain than just say you wish you could invite everyone but that isnt the case. I'm sure she didnt even think you would invite her for the same reasons you didnt.

I wouldn't just send her an invite now, but if it happens to come up or if she seems mad or upset about it, maybe just tell her you hope she isn't offended and felt weird inviting her and making her feel like she had to buy you a gift since you haven't known eachother long. When I had a baby shower for my first DC, I invited a few girls from work that I was close to and then they ended up having a little luncheon at work for me and everyone else was included.

Thx guys.. I feel a lil better now! It's a small office and only 3 of us upstairs including her.. so I invited my friend who I have worked with for a long time and my 2 bosses.. I didnt even get to invite 2 people from downstairs that I have known forever who work in the same office but not for our company.. I hate picking and choosing but I thought I could get away not inviting her since she just started! I don't think the girl cares personally but I think my bosses might.. Oh well, I guess you can never make everyone happy!

I agree with Roz! That face was not called for. The way I look at showers is that the people throwing it have the final say so if I'm upset that I'm not invited then I just figure the person throwing it decided that I wasn't on the "must have" list...not everyone makes their own shower guest list.

You know her for a month or two. My general rule for inviting people to things is if your phone number is not in my phone, then we aren't close enough so you don't get an invite.
