Child Health Plus
Asking for a friend - Say you and your DH have United HealthCare through your job and you can't afford to put your children on it. Can they get the United HealthCare plan under Child Health Plus? Or no, because she already has insurance. My friend is under the impression her kids will be denied because when they run her social it will show they CAN have coverage with her company, even though she can't afford it. She thinks only children who don't have insurance available to them can qualify for CHP. I thought it was all children and if you make too much you just end up paying the full premium.

This is what i thought as well. Have her look into it. The worst they can say is no but I don't think that will happen/

CHP is for any child. It is a slidign scale for how much you pay. The more you make the more you pay

This...i know someone who had private insurance for themselves and there child was on Child Health Plus cause she couldnt afford it

She can apply. There is a question on the app that says something like "are you eligible through your job but cant afford it?"
I'm just not sure if uhc is a chp provider
