All of a sudden she hates her crib

As soon as we introduced Jordana to her crib, she loved it. She would play in there and had such an easy time falling asleep.

But now, she screams whenever she is in it. She won't sleep in there. Even if she falls asleep somewhere else, once we move her to the crib she wakes up and screams.

Crying it out is tough because we share a room.

Any suggestions??

She might be too young for CIO. Maybe she is starting to feel some separation anxiety? Will she calm down if you go to her and soothe her? I know once my DD is crying in the crib there is no way to console her other than to take her out, but maybe Jordana is better than Marron. Maybe try putting her mobile on?

I wouldn't let her play in her crib anymore unless it's early in the am when she wakes up. I would only use it for sleep.

Try putting her in her crib when she's tired rather than moving her into it when she's asleep. If you absolutely have to move her, try putting a hot water bottle on the spot where you're going to lay her down.

I agree with the no-play rule for the crib... she should associate it with a place to sleep. It sounds like a touch of separation anxiety - Alex gets this allllllllllll the time. What happens if you put her in the crib and stand over her? Alex ALWAYS wakes up the second we put her in the crib but instead of letting her cry, most of the time I just stand over the crib, rub her belly or hold her hand, play the fisher price aquarium thing-a-ma-jig, and usually she'll fall asleep by the time the music stops. Ever few seconds she'll pop open an eye just to make sure I'm still there, and I stay there until she's off to dreamland... maybe that will help?

Thanks for your suggestions. Jordana will be 5 months old next week.

I have tried putting her in the crib and sitting over her, but she starts to cry. How long should I stay there? I usually sit there for under 5 minutes with the crying though. After 5 minutes of crying I usually take her out. Maybe I am leaving to early?

We also put on the mobile and the aquairaum thing but it doesn't seem to do anything. We also have the projection light that plays music and makes a picture on the ceiling. If she is crying, none of these things calm her down. however, when I see her tired cues (rubbing her eyes, etc...), even if I put her in her crib, she starts to scream.
