Has this happened to you?

Where one dr calls for the next step to be an increase in dosage but the dr you actually speak to doesn't necessarily agree? I had a failed IUI this month so Dr Stelling said to increase Clomid to 150. I guess to get more mature follicles out of me. I only had one this time. Dr Halfen who I thought I wasn't crazy about in the beginning (so totally changed that opinion after yesterday) said he personally wouldn't up the dosage since I produce follicles on the lower dosage and supposedly my chances decrease as your dosage increases. I am not one to take meds to begin with so we asked what he thought we should do. We decided that we would try one more time with 100 and go from there. His first question was " why aren't you pregnant?" " you had an excellent cycle". I replied I would like to know the same thing!!!

I was so happy he explained everything to us. We never had such an informative visit. He told me my FSH is that of a 19 yr old!!!!! I was so happy to hear this. No one ever told us what those numbers meant. I hope he does my next IUI. I had a chemical with him so I feel like he can bring me my take home baby this time. I am starting to feel positive again!!!!

Yes I've had this happened as well where two doctors had two different opinions. I don't think either one is wrong just one has a more conservative opinion then the other and it sounds like you went with what you were more comfortable with which makes sense. Good luck with your upcoming cycle

Dr Haflen said the same thing to myself and a friend & we both answered him "I don't know, you tell me" lol


I have heard the same, dr stelling wanted a higher dose and dr haflen recommended not.
