Crashing: When do people normally have baby showers?
One of my close friends is pregnant. I was wondering how many weeks along are people normally when they have their baby showers? This will be the first person close to me having a baby (and I am thinking most of the planning/expense will fall on me) so I am not sure about the timeline. She is due in mid August.

I think around 1-3 months out from the due date is fairly common.

From previous posts I have seen most people say 28-35 weeks, later being less common in case of an early delivery. Mine was at 30 weeks.

usually around 30-35 weeks id say...mine was late cause we had alot going on, we had mine at 34 weeks

I agree with the girls above. Mine is at 30 weeks because after that I just was worried about early labor and being uncomfortable.

Mine is going to be at 35w and I REALLY wish it was sooner. I am 33w now and starting to feel so uncomfortable.

I was 34 weeks. I thought it was perfect timing. Fwiw, it doesn't have to be insanely expensive. Congrats to your friend!

I would have it at her parents' house, but her mom is a heavy smoker... I am pricing places out this week. Her mom offered to help pay for it - so hopefully I am not responsible for that much - just planning it!
I can not do the beginning of July - so it looks like it will be on the earlier side.

I was 7 months pregnant at mine.
Although it was a surprise, I thought that was perfect timing. At that point I was still comfortable enough to enjoy it without being swollen, sore and enormous. It also gave us enough time to set up the nursery and organize the gifts well in advance of the baby.
