How do you go about flying with a 7 month old? We would need the car seat stroller and pack and play. How on earth do you bring all this or do you rent the items for when you get there? This just seems too stressful lol.

I have airline miles that are expiring for a free flight and don't want to lose them.

I have no idea but I have seen people check strollers in airports all the time. The carseat you can bring on the plane and have them sit in it. Pack n play would probably be a hassle

I believe the stroller you check right before you get onto the plane (at least that's what it looks like when boarding the plane to me). The carseat will sit on a seat next to you (so you have to buy a seat, some people check the carseat with their luggage and hold the baby to seat on buying a seat). I've never seen anyone bring a pack n play. What I always thought is that you call the hotel and ask if they have cribs available for the rooms. Then bring your own sheets (they prob have sheets but I would bring my own for the crib).

I've traveled quite a few times with my DC as infants. If I'm buying a seat for them, I bring the infant carseat snapped into the stroller right to the gate, take infant/carseat to our seats and gate check the stroller part. If not, I check carseat with luggage and take umbrella stroller (we have Maclaren) to gate check. I always take a baby carrier, like the sling or Bjorn to help me be hands free on the plane.

I've never taken a pack n play. Too much to carry. We've used the hotels with our own sheets or borrowed one. We rented one in FL before and that turned out just fine too.

7 months and traveling

I'm flying with my 2mo DD this week and we are bringing the car seat and umbrella stroller, gate checking both and we were able to borrow a pack n play at our destination. We were going to ship ours if we werent able to find one to borrow. If we can't gate check both the car seat and stroller, we will check the car seat with baggage, although I'm not thrilled with that concept since the baggage handlers are pretty rough. We decided not to purchase a seat for DD for the car seat (although we will when we fly to califormia in may - its a long flight to have a lap baby). I'm bringing a ring sling for the flight as well.

Great question! Curious to know this as well.

We will be traveling to FL in May when DD is about 3 months. And I have no clue what to bring! I have never traveled with an infant.

If you don't stay in a hotel...then how do you all manage without bringing a pack n play? I will be staying with a family friend so not sure what to bring for DD to sleep in. It's only a weekend trip.

I've seen people check strollers and car seats at the gate... as for a pack n play I'm not sure. Check out the travel stuff on the BBB site, they seem to have some stuff they designate as "travel solutions", like travel beds and such, so maybe those become more compact to fit in suitcases...

Also, Babies R Us has a travel rental program. Not sure how good it is but I recently saw it on their website, I think they're only doing NY and FL right now but if you're headed to FL it might be worth it to look in to.

Ohhh interesting. Thanks!

Edited:

Just look they only have Orlando, Miami & Ft. Lauderdale. I am going to the west coast of FL...but good to know when I go to those destinations in FL in the future.
