Kenya Safari Company?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a safari company that won't break the bank? We are going in November and seeing CRAZY prices. 300+ per person Any advice or recs are very very much appreciated!
ETA: That is 300+pp per day!

Re: Kenya Safari Company?
Unfortunately, Kenya is expensive. Usually those prices include meals, a safari ride or some sort of activity, the room, and flying in (most of the parks are fly-in). When I looked into going to Kenya, I went to Gamewatchers and they had some reasonable prices. I never booked with them because we didn't go to Kenya, so I can't really say.
Have you booked your flight yet? DH and I couldn't decide what country we wanted to go, so we got a great book and that really helped: The complete African Safari Planner by Foder's. I'm looking through it now and some Companies based in Kenya are- Cheli & Peacock, Gamewatchers, Micato Safaris, Sardius Tours, and Skyview of Africa.
When I booked my trip to Namibia, I was told that it is better to get a travel company that is in the country and that's what I did. I had an excellent experience with my company.
We booked Namibia because the other countries were too much for us for what we wanted. To give you an idea, DH and I spent $10,000 for everything- flights, lodges, food, tours every day, and our car rental. That was for 2 weeks. Some places were luxury, some were not. We did a good mix.
Why not go to Namibia? I'm biased though.

Re: Kenya Safari Company?
Unfortunately we already booked our flights! My parents did a Micato Safari in 2010 and it was crazy $$$$$ but incredible!....We may end up having to do a serious camping safari or something
I will certainly check out that book. Thank you! We are only looking to do 5 days on safari , 2 in Nairobi and then a week in Zanzibar. I had no idea it would be this pricy
Did you enjoy your time in Namibia??
