Gel manicure
I'm thinking i want to get a gel manicure. What kind is best? I know my salon has the shellac (? Spell) and the OPI. And is it really worth it?

Gel manicure
I did the opi and on the twelfth day I took it off myself bc of growth. I did itfor vacation where I swam etc and also all my regular stuff like washing bottles, giving my kids baths, etc. you know everything that chips regular manicures.

I love CND Shellac.
A little more forgiving on the nails than some of the Gels

I do the CND Shellac. It stays on my nails better than the OPI.

What is a gel (shellac) mani? Like getting fake nails but using nail polish? Does it extend your real nails like fake nails?

It is a nail polish that is dried using UV light and is said to last up to 12 days. I have gotten it several times and love the fact that you are ready to walk out the second they are done....dry as a bone! It does not extend your real nails..it is a regular polish with super drying powers lol
The downside is that it has to be soaked off (unless you pick it off before) and with the scraping they do to get the remnants off, your nails do show signs of some damage (minimal compared to fake nails though).
Oh, forgot to say that it is the CND Shellac that I've gotten and have gone up to 2.5 weeks without a chip!

I love my gel manicures and I won't do anything else. I used to get the opi gel but the salon near me only has shellac and I find that I love it the same if not more. It last for about 2 weeks.

Just got my shellac today. It was fast and loved how I could just leave when I was done. Lets see how long it lasts!
