Folic acid
Hi all,
I am 5 weeks pregnant and my dr has me coming in for my first appointment on March 5 (8 weeks pregnant). She told me for now to take a multi vitamin with 400 mcg of frolic acid for now! Is this enough? I thought the ideal amount was 600-800. I'm nervous because I really wasn't on vitamins before I got pregnant and I don't want to be deficient in folic acid.
What's your input?

Why don't you just take an over the counter prenatal? One a day prenatal is good

Folic acid
I took 400iu of Folic Acid for three weeks and when I finally saw my Dr she gave me prenatals...I agree with the girls and start taking an OTC

There is 1mg in my prenatal. My dr wanted me to take more and gave me a script for an extra 400mcg. I filled it, took it once, and had an extremely sour stomach for the rest of the night. I am sticking with the 1mg in my prenatal.
