Getting test results from RSoNY

How do those of you who go to RSoNY @ Stony Brook get your test results? Do they call you or do you have to call them?

I have had blood drawn three times and no one has called me with results.

Also, last week, DH did his SA and I had my HSG. Since I haven't heard these results I called RSoNY today and left a message but they haven't called me back yet. Should I call again and leave another message?

I don't want to be pushy or annoying to the staff there, as I know it's a very busy practice. I just would like to know my results. I can't just assume no news is good news.

Please let me know if you think I should call back. TIA

When we first started at RSofNY, we had a bunch of testing done and then had a consult with Dr. Stelling to go over the results of everything. That included blood work for both of us, my husbands SA, my HSG etc.

Once we started with IUI's and now IVF, they usually only call if something comes up with the blood work or if my protocol needs to be changed. That being said, I have asked on occasion for them to call me regardless (often when I was doing IUI"s). They were checking my progesterone and I was always curious about what my number was.

Don't feel bad asking for them to call you. They have always been more than happy to honor that and did not seem put out by it at all.

I would call again. They usually are really good about calling back with test results but I have "annoyed" them on a couple of occasions and they've been more than happy to help. One thing I've learned in all of this is always be an advocate for yourself and never be afraid to ask for things or call if you want to know something or are uncertain!

It depends on what blood work you are going for. Last week I had my progesterone checked and they told me I would only get a call if I needed to get a prescription for a supplement. When it comes to preg test they call either way. As far as the pre testing I didn't get results per se. They told me at one of my visits everything was ok if the dr didn't bring it up. DH SA we got the results at one of my routine visits. If you have concerns definitely call them. I have pestered them plenty of times. They are really great and never make you feel like you are being a pest

Hmmm...I'm sorry you are having a problem getting your test results. That seems so strange to me. I have been going there for 6 months, and I have had no problem getting results. The HSG results i got the day of, SA results we got the next time we went to the office no one called with those. But other than that, I've had tons of bloodwork and they always call me between 12-3 with results. I know this is a really dumb question but do they confirm your phone # every time you go? Dr Lydic is my primary Dr there, maybe it depends on the DR. Maybe some Drs only have the nurses call with abnormal results? Maybe the next time you go in, ask the nurse to call with results whether they are normal or abnormal.

Yes - they do have me reconfirm my phone number each time, which is why I find it odd that they haven't ever called me...

I have an appointment next week so I will ask that they call me even if the tests are ok. A little reassurance during this whole process goes a long way in my book
