Anyone have recommendations for someone to fix a dryer?
Not sure what the issue is, the dryer is only a couple years old. It lights up, but won't start. Sometimes if you turn the settings dial it will go on, but for the most part won't turn on.....I have a mountain of laundry to do and we'd like to avoid buying a new on if possible.

How old is it? I think the new planned obsolescence is about 6-10 years for washer/dryers.

I just had Sears come out and repair my washer and clean out the air ducts for my dryer. Their number is 1-888-266-6317.

It's about 5 yrs old, I would love to just get a new set, but my SIL who lives with us doesn't want to kick in any money so my husband said forget it!
How much did Sears charge, if you don't mind me asking?

70 to diagnose..........but it goes towards repair, too.

Re: Anyone have recommendations for someone to fix a dryer?
I have had horrible experiences with Sears setting appointments and not showing up, then not being able to get in touch with anyone to address this.
I have a guy for you but I can get the # when I get home from work later tonight.
When I had issues with my last dryer I think it was around $100-$200 for him to come out and fix it. He was prompt and showed up when he was supposed to.
He covers all of LI and I believe Queens.

Not sure where you live but Universe Applicance in Seaford fixes all sorts of appliances. My family has been using them for years. I'm pretty sure they will go to all of Nassau and parts of Western Suffolk.

Where did you buy the dryer? Did it come with a warranty? If not, I'd do some research online. My apartment building has a company called Mac-Gray that runs our laundry system. They come to fix any broken machines right away, I'm sure you wouldn't mind that luxury! Best of luck.
