Induction set

For Saturday! I'm late (was due Friday). Had a non stress test and sono today. Baby is weighing big so w are planning for Saturday. I have no progress...cervix is 0% effaced and 1cm dilated...same as last week.
I'm kinda nervous about being induced and more importantly it not working and needing a csection. Any mommas have positive inducement stories to share??

I was induced on 2/1 and it was a great experience!!! DS was measuring 9.5lbs and they wanted to do the induction right away, but I was scared and wanted to push it off to see if he would come naturally.

I did a lot of research, set my mind to have a positive attitude about it and did A LOT OF WALKING before my induction. I was 2cm for 4 weeks, but when I went in, I was 3cm, so I think walking helped it out.

The actual induction experience --
I was started on pitocin at 9am and didn't really feel contractions at first. They broke my water at 10am (ask them if/when they plan on doing that -- from my research, it seems this makes a big difference in people needing c-sections -- if they break your water early on, more people progress with the meds and have faster labor). It was pretty easy going from there -- I had a tv in the room and my mom, sister and DH were there to talk to me and keep me company. I started feeling slight contraction pain at 2ish and so I got en epidural. At 6 I was extremely uncomfortable and nauseated -- the nurse told me it was because DS was probably sitting very low, but she gave me another push of pain meds. I was in a lot of pain from 6:30-7 when the doctor checked me again -- I was ready to push. I pushed for about a half hour and DS was born at 7:28.

He ripped me apart coming out though, so I needed A LOT of stitches and was in a lot of pain the next day!

I was due on Friday, too. We just set my induction for Sunday. I'm 2cm and 50% effaced (same as I was at last wk's appt). I haven't had any contractions at all. Had a scan with the peri today and baby is weighing in at 7lbs 5 oz. I have the same concerns you do. Wishing us both an uneventful delivery!

I was induced with my first. I went in on a Monday night and they gave me cervidil to soften my cervix. Then on tues morning we started pitocin. My dd was born at 5:11pm on Tuesday night. The induction was a piece of cake. I hope yours goes well too! Lots of luck!!
