Early Intervention

My twins physical therapist, also the owner of an EI center, made me aware of what governor Cuomo is trying to get passed in NY state.
He is trying to have EI go through the patients health insurance. This would have the patients/parents paying co-pays for every visit. There are many other changes to the program that he is trying to change, but this one REALLY hits home. I know I couldn't afford this in the long run.

Here is a way we can try to stop it. This is a very fast way to get a letter to the appropriate people so they can vote down Cuomo's proposal.

Restricting a Therapist's ability to get on Insurance Panels (eliminating thousands of licensed, experienced providers)
Limiting a parent’s choice of evaluator
The Governor’s proposal violates the foundation and spirit of the Early Intervention program. The Governor’s misguided proposal must be stopped by the legislature, just the legislature wisely did last year. Your e-mails and phone calls are urgently needed…Now!

Wow then next employers will be able to opt out of coverage in the ins plans. This is nuts. Its school, not medical!! I couldn't imagine having to pay a $40 copay for a specialist (EI teacher) 2x per week.

Letter sent. DS was part of EI, and i am forever grateful! I too would not have been able to afford this in the long run!
