How can I ask grandparents Please stop buying furniture at yard sales?

I am all for hand me downs, but not when I dont know the house its coming from.

How can I ask grandparents to please STOP buying things at yard sales for DC? They have already bought a stroller (but dont have the istructions how to fold it, adjust it etc and didnt try to clean it), a swing (looks about 10 years old and the ropes looked frayed) and now they want to look for a high chair. To note: we didnt ask them to buy anything - we already have a travel system and an umbrella stroller and DC is too small for a swing.
They also thought we were crazy for buying new crib and dressers for DC because we could have used hand me downs (that were at least 10 years old).

I told them if they want things for thier house I WILL BUY whatever they need but they say No no we want to get things for DS.

I dont mean to sound like a snob at all! I recognize that they mean well and are so loving to DS but their yard sale stuff skeeves me out.
**Also, Im talking about things that cant be easily washed or are just old/frayed looking that strikes me as unsafe.

Maybe just explain about this day and age there are things called Recalls, and if something is bought from a garage sale there is no way in checking up on it. Even though there is... but IDK maybe by telling them its not safe?

Or can you check if the things they have bought have recalls out on them? If so, then print them out and show them, that its not always the safest option...

Where as you appreicate all they are doing and helping, there are people out there that sometimes sell broken/ damaged/ bad items etc.
