Has Anyone Ever Traveled to South Africa?
Can you share where you went specifically?
Where you stayed (hotel, home, apartment)?
Where did you fly out of, and how long was the flight and how many layovers?
Thanks

I went years ago. Stayed in homes of family friends in Bloemfontein and Cape Town. Went on Safari in Kruger National Park. The flight was long but I flew to London and then south from there. Can't remember how many hours, but it was really really long!

Re: Has Anyone Ever Traveled to South Africa?
i just went a few months ago. still need to post my review.
but in short, we flew in/out of cape town. spent 4 nights there, then drove along the garden route. stopped at a seaside waterfront town for 2 nights, then traveled further east to a game reserve to do safari for 2 nights. drove back more inland and stayed out the largest "ostrich" capital that also had an awesome cave adventour. and flew out of cape town
im not gonna lie. the flights were rough. we had one layover in amsterdam.
i would definitely go to SA again b/c it was just soooo beautiful, wonderful, friendly, and CHEAP (hello awesome exchange rate!!!!!). but i would definitely stay overnight in CPT before flying out again.
6 hours driving to airport, 12:30 flight to amster, 3 hour layover, and 8 hour flight home KILLED my legs! also did not help i was drinking wine throughout the flight
hth
eta: overall it was an 11 day trip

I went years ago but remember that Capetown was gorgeous! Table mountain and the drive down the penninsula to Cape of Good Hope are musts! Also heard Robbin Island is but it was closed when i was there. I also went to Johanesburg but do not recommend it so much just from personal experience.
