Yet Another Sleep Question
PLEASE HELP!!!
So I know this is the millionith post about sleeping disruption but I really need advice/help. I was all against CIO but now Im wondering if its something I need to try.
My DD is 7 1/2 months and for the last 2 weeks or more, she no longer sleeps through the night. She is waking up every hour to 1 1/2 hours screaming, but stops the second I pick her up. Puts her head on my shoulder and goes right back to sleep. I put her down and shes up crying sometimes initially if I put her down too soon and other times I get an hour or at least twice its only bought me 20 minutes.
Last night at one point I just let her cry and was shhhing her telling her mommy rights here with her and rubbed her back. She only got more hysterical when I would stop. She was crying so hard and so loud she was coughing and almost losing her breath. At that point I picked her up because she REALLY worked herself up. She had to calm herself down for a minute or 2 and then put her head down on my shoulder and went right back to bed. Im at my wits end!!! Im exhausted and dont know what to do!!!!!!!
I know now its not pain its separation anxiety. I know some women have posted an alternative to CIO its like a method of waiting different times. Can someone share that? Can someone share their experience with this? I feel like a horrible mother who is giving her DD bad sleep habits! How did the CIO method work for your lil one?
My lil one is pretty independent during the day but I have noticed the last 2 weeks she looks for me more now. Like she wants me to sit next to her while she plays where I used to sit on the couch or do some chores while she played with her toys for at least an hour on her own.

Re: Yet Another Sleep Question
My girls are younger and less aware so it's easier, but I kinda just do the ferber method. I just read up a little online but I didnt read the book. If they are crying I go in and let them know Im there, shh them, pat them. Then let them cry 3 mins, then 5, then 7, etc. Each time assuring them you are there. They say it can take a week or so. I actually never got to the 5 mins because they settle down.
My one DD (the better sleeper and mommy's clingy baby) takes more than this when shes crying so I lift her in the crib and rock back and forth. They aren't quite 4 mo yet though so I don't want to really cio yet. Plus she has reflux so I don't want to upset her too much.
I put their glow worm on for them too. sometimes I'll give a paci. I know I'll have to break the paci habit later but for now they are still young.

Yet Another Sleep Question
My DS was like this about a month ago. I thought it was because he had been sick but even when he was better he was still getting up.
I did CIO and the first night he cried for almost an hour. It was so tough but I only neede the one night. The 2nd night he woke up cried for a minute and right back down. He has been good since.

It could still be teething pain. We went through the exact same thing with our DS. He would calm down as soon as we picked him up. It went on for two weeks but then BOOM 2 top teeth....Fast forward to 11 months, same thing, sleep disruption for over two weeks and then what would you know, another TWO teeth together. Now, if we even see the onset of this happening, we give him Tylenol before bed...If he wakes up one of us lays by his crib so he knows we are there....It has worked for us. I can't do the CIO, I have tried, I just don't have it in me...I even tried giving him to my Mom to try it

Yet Another Sleep Question
Im just at a loss as to what it is. She was great all day spent the day with my mom. Then tonight shes in 1 of her seats right in front of me while i wss pureeing her pears. All of a sudden gets whiney then full on hysterics. I let her be hysterical telling her im right here im not going anywhere. I love her. She only gets worse. I pick her up she continues to cry but is a little calmer. I put her on her changing table to begin her night time routine she became inconsolsbly hysterical the whole time. Once pjs were on i picked her up she started to cAlm down a bit then put her head on my shoulder and literally passed out. Shes out cold right now.
I have no idea whats going on with her snd no idea what the right thing to do is to help her. :-/
Has anyone experienced this? Shes usually very independent, never cried, slept through the night.

Yet Another Sleep Question
Woke up 3 times already since last post. Tonight shes inconsolable and now has a fever of 100.9 so she clearly doesnt feel well. This has to be teething right?

Sounds like it to me!
My kids never ram fevers with teething but I know lots do.
Give some tylenol and maybe a cold teether to chew on.
I wouldn't CIO while she's in pain with a low grade fever.

No we didnt do that to her. That would just be cruel imo. I dont hace the heart to do it unless its last resort anyway. I just want her to sleep better again. She was up half the night.

This sounds like my DD for the past few days! She has been breaking out into hysterics for no clear reason. I keep feeling for teeth, but don't feel any swelling. It is heartbreaking when they cry like that.
