Shower or not

So my parents and I were talking and they asked if I really wanted the shower or would I just want the money that they would be spending on the shower to go buy what I want. I kinda am leaning towards the shower but the idea got me thinking

Take the money n u will still get a ton of gifts from family, friends, coworkers

I loved having a shower but my parents never gave me that option lol so id b thinkin too!

My parents gave us the money and I'm buying my own stuff

The only reason I'm not having a shower is because we got married last May and we felt that having a bridal shower, wedding and then a christening after for the baby was too much for people...so we opted out of the baby shower.

But I know where you're coming from...tough decisions! :)

I think either way is fine. I wanted to celebrate with family and friends so we did a shower and people were super generous and our registry was wiped out... but now knowing what my mom spent on the shower I could have taken that money and bought everything I needed as well... so I think it can work out either way!
